Buffy Wicks, Assemblymember
represents the East Bay in the California State Assembly, a district spanning Oakland to Richmond that includes Berkeley and El Cerrito. Now Chair of the Assembly Appropriations Committee after two years leading the Housing Committee, Wicks has taken on the toughest fights to solve California’s housing crisis, forging coalitions that hold even when powerful interests push back. The California Building Industry Association named her its 2024 Legislator of the Year.
