WOMEN'S HOUSING LEADERSHIP GROUP OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
A group of women formed the Northern California chapter of the Women’s Housing Leadership Group in 2019 to help elevate women into the homebuilding industry’s highest executive positions throughout Northern California.
With the help of generous industry sponsors, WHLG partnered with Leaderology, Inc., and launched its inaugural 2021-2022 program with an innovative, two-year leadership training program that matched outstanding women with industry executives. WHLG also debuted a women's leadership workshop series.
For 2023-2024, WHLG's founding members in Northern California took what they learned and embarked on their second women's leadership training cycle. Now called RISE, nine women were carefully selected from a talented pool of mid- to upper-level leaders working within the homebuilding industry in Northern California to participate in the prestigious leadership training program. An additional 20 women have committed to WHLG's BUILD program, a five-part workshop series that will help them build their own brand, expand their influence and increase their visibility within the industry.

2024 ASCEND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP
WORKSHOP SERIES OPENS FOR REGISTRATION
The Women’s Housing Leadership Group of Northern California has opened registration for its 2024 Ascend Women’s Leadership Workshops, a specially designed series for women seeking to elevate their careers in the homebuilding industry. Limited to 25 women in order to provide opportunities for maximum participation, the series includes a CliftonStrengths assessment and six, two-hour virtual workshops facilitated by the renowned professional coaching company Leaderology and the Karrikins Group, a leadership consulting organization. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend several in-person networking and social events.
Women who participated in previous workshops called the program a life changing experience with opportunity for self-reflection, leadership skill development and the chance to thrive in an environment where lifelong relationships are fostered based on mutual trust.
“The workshops, built on a foundation of strengths assessment, guided me in understanding my individual strengths and experiences before anything else,” said DAHLIN Architecture Principal and Senior Architect Darian Wagner. “Through these interactions, I not only gained valuable insights into my own capabilities but also developed lasting connections with like-minded individuals. I am immensely grateful for the friendships forged and the growth achieved during this program! It has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on me.”
Participants are expected to attend all six virtual sessions, which will be held from 9-11 a.m. on the following dates:
-
Sept. 13, 2024 — Session 1, Building Your Self-Understanding
-
Sept. 27, 2024 — Session 2, Developing Fearless Authenticity
-
Oct. 11, 2024 — Session 3, Designing Your Growth Infrastructure
-
Oct. 25, 2024 — Session 4, Laying the Foundation for Your Team
-
Nov. 8, 2024 — Session 5, Moving From Agreement to Alignment in Your Leadership
-
Nov. 15, 2024 — Session 6, Virtual Presentations
The series is open to women working in the homebuilding industry. The program is valued at more than $4,000 per person but thanks to the generosity of industry contributors, participants pay only $200.
