Hercules is poised to be the first city in the west Contra Costa County sub-regional transportation impact fee territory to adopt recently approved higher rates. The City Council will consider revised fee structure at its meeting on Feb. 26, 2019. If approved, the single family unit fee will increase $1,742 per unit or 47 percent, from $3,697 per unit to $5,439. The multi-family rate will rise $331 per unit or 14 percent, from $2,348 per unit to $2,679. The new charges are scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2019. The change stems from an updated nexus study recently commissioned by the West Contra Costa County Transportation Authority, which resulted in a recommendation to boost fees. The WCCTAC board is asking all six of its member agencies to adopt the updated fee schedule. In addition to Hercules, the sub-region includes El Cerrito, Pinole, Richmond, San Pablo and Contra Costa County. For questions, contact BIA's Lisa Vorderbrueggen at lvorderbrueggen@biabayarea.org.
