• Walnut Creek Sets Stakeholder Meetings

  • Walnut Creek officials invite developers to attend two housing-related stakeholder workshops in July. The first is a City Council workshop set for 6 p.m. on July 10 where councilmembers will discuss potential community benefit programs for the draft West Downtown and North Downtown specific plans. The concept is to offer developers greater development potential within these districts — increased height, floor area, densities, etc. — in exchange for community benefits such as additional parks or affordable housing. The second workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on July 18. In this session, city officials are hosting a discussion about the city’s affordable housing needs and taking input in preparation for updating the city’s density bonus ordinance. Both workshops will be held at Walnut Creek City Hall, 1666 N. Main St., Walnut Creek.
