The Vacaville City Council will discuss on Aug. 9, 2016, two potential new fees on residential development intended to cover costs to update and implement the city’s General Plan. The proposed general plan update cost recovery fee is a 14.2 percent surcharge on all building fees. The proposed general plan implementation fee is $604 per single-family unit and $322 per multi-family unit in specified areas within the city and $1,969 per acre on developments that will require annexation. The fees are pro-rated to reflect what the city estimates as new developments' share of the projected costs. The city has scheduled a public hearing for final adoption of the fee on Sept. 13, 2016.
