Union City planning staff have announced plans to update the city’s affordable housing ordinance and hold a public hearing on the proposed changes on Oct. 9, 2018. The plan includes amending the optional in-lieu provisions, altering the alternative compliance options, removing the exemption for a single-unit project, exempting accessory dwelling units and establishing an affordable housing impact fee on the replacement or reconstruction of any single-family unit.
