• SF Bay Area Permit Numbers Plunge in June

  • The housing permit rate in the San Francisco Bay Area plunged 106 percent in June 2020 compared with the same period last year as the region continues to experience the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The nine counties and the more than 100 cities permitted just 1,197 units in June 2020. A year ago in June, the same jurisdictions issued 2,235 housing permits. In contrast, the statewide rate fell just 13.5 percent in June 2020 compared with the same month last year. Click HERE to view and download a one-page data chart.
