After a year-long effort to curb parks in lieu fee increases though revision of the City’s land appraisal methodology, the Santa Clara City Council will take up the adoption of in lieu fees for development of residential units at its next meeting. Through efforts by BIA and other partner agencies, the City has released a revised appraisal report of the value of land in the City of Santa Clara, resulting in proposed new fees significantly lower than originally proposed in November 2015. The new parks fee levels represent about a 10% increase over fees that were enacted back in 2014 and will range from a low of $22,770 for a multi-family unit up to a high of $36,108 for a single family detached home.
