• Santa Clara Parks Fees May Jump Up in 2018-19

  • City of Santa Clara Parks fees will rise significantly if the City Council adopts the proposed In Lieu Fee Schedule Resolution on Tuesday, April 24th. The City Council meets at 7:00pm, 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050. The proposed increase would be approximately 30% across the board on all unit types. This equates to about $9500 increase per unit on single family and $7500 per unit on multifamily. With the proposed increase single family fees would reach about $45,000 per unit, and multifamily fees would be about $35,000 per unit. The increase is due to a jump in the “improvements” line item in the fee structure and comes as a result of the City’s recent City of Santa Clara Facility Condition Assessment (2017 Kitchell Report). This report inflates the value of City’s park improvements assets from approx. $92,378,460 (2014) up to $405,683,013! This figure is then prorated as “cost per capita” across the population, subsequently triggering the improvements line item increases. To read the Resolution for more specifics click here.
