Santa Clara County cities are beginning the process of studying the proposed formation of a Santa Clara County RHNA Subregion. Led by the Santa Clara County Cities Association, the proposed Santa Clara County RHNA Subregion would purportedly facilitate Santa Clara County and its cities to work collaboratively to produce more housing in the Region and have a unified voice in responding to the area’s housing needs. The Cities Association RHNA Subregion Task Force studied the formation of a subregion for Sant Clara County and has developed draft bylaws, a draft resolution, guiding principles, a vision statement, and a pros and cons list. The Cities Association Board approved these items at its June 14, 2018 meeting and have released them for feedback from city councils. The Cupertino City Council is scheduled to study the proposal on August 21, 2018 and San Jose is scheduled to study it on August 28. The San Jose staff report with attachments is available here.
