• San Ramon To Codify Inclusionary Regs

  • The San Ramon City Council is expected to codify its inclusionary housing regulations and adopt a new commercial affordable housing impact fee ordinance at its meeting on April 9, 2019. The city has for years negotiated affordable housing concessions from new development on a project-by-project basis. Under the ordinance, all for-sale single-family projects of 10 or more units must either provide 10 percent of the units to moderate-income households or pay an equivalent in-lieu fee of $15 per sq. ft. All rental residential development projects of 10 more units must set aside 15 percent as affordable — split equally between very-low and low-income — and cannot pay an in-lieu fee. The council is scheduled to officially adopt the in-lieu rate and the commercial affordable housing impact fee schedule on April 23, 2019.
