On Thursday, January 30th at the conclusion of lengthy discussion, debate and public comment, a majority of the Envision Task Force members voted to adopt a motion by BIA task force representative Pat Sausedo to eliminate the General Plan Urban Village Horizon Policy. Additionally, the Task Force a motion to recommend modifying Urban Village Planning Policy IP-2.10 to include the following emboldened language: “Prioritize the preparation of Urban Village plans to give priority for new residential growth to occur in areas proximate to Downtown, or access to existing and planned transit facilities, or adequate infrastructure to support intensification, and proximate to other Growth Areas to contribute to the City’s urban form. Growth Areas with high market demand shall also be prioritized to ensure that development follows the vision for the future”
