San Bruno Comprehensive Development Impact Fees
The City of San Bruno is proposing the adoption a comprehensive development impact fee (DIF) that would add thousands of dollars in new fees and existing fees to development in the City. The comprehensive DIF would impose a lump sum fee of nearly $24,000 per residential unit in addition to thousands more for new mixed use including office, retail, hotel, and other commercial development. At the Tuesday, December 11, 2018 City Council meeting, City staff and the consultant team are scheduled to deliver a presentation to the Council and public discussing the proposed impact fees, assumptions in the nexus study, and the plan and timeline for adoption. The nexus study includes evaluation of typical existing fees for parks, water, and sewer and combines them with new impact fees linked to public safety and general government impacts. The City proposes to build new community recreational facilities, general government facilities, and new transportation infrastructure as well as to expand police and fire services , water lines, sewer & storm drain and fiber optic cable.
