• Pleasanton Defers ‘Gatekeeper’ Policy

  • Pleasanton is deferring action on a proposed ‘gatekeeper’ policy pending internal review and discussion. BIA|Bay Area and its members were among the strong voices that raised serious questions about the proposal released earlier this year. It would have established a new annual advance review of all requested legislative changes in Pleasanton, a dragnet approach that would have caught up everything from a general plan amendment to a minor zoning adjustment. BIA|Bay Area was among the nearly two dozen people who registered objections at a stakeholders’ meeting in May. Pleasanton Planning Manager Adam Weinstein sent notice in early June that the city staff had postponed indefinitely further consideration of the proposal.
