Builders should be aware that PG&E’s construction schedules will be less predictable during the upcoming wildfire season, utility representatives told BIA members during a joint meeting on May 9, 2019. In the wake of intense scrutiny following recent wildland fires, PG&E anticipates that it may shut down the power grid during times of high fire danger far more often than it has in the past. This may result in delays for homebuilders as PG&E diverts construction crews to emergency shut-down areas. BIA members were also provided with an updated key personnel incident escalation contact list, discussed a potential outside contractor proposal and learned about improvements in PG&E’s gas meter and manifold service.
