The HomeAid Northern California Board of Directors announces the retirement of Cheryl O’Connor as executive director effective June 30, 2021. We are sad to see her go but we are filled with gratitude for her leadership and accomplishments during the past 10 years.
As we all know, the challenges faced by each of us in our own companies have been magnified for HomeAid this past year – greater need with fewer resources. Despite, or maybe because of those circumstances, Cheryl has stepped up to lead the chapter through the challenges with a strength that resulted in moving much needed projects forward, adding new board members and creating a raised awareness of HomeAid. She has also done so while conserving resources and positioning the chapter with more than adequate reserves heading into the future.
As Executive Director of HomeAid Northern California, Cheryl has led the organization to complete 35 new shelter projects. She has become a tiny home advocate with HomeAid’s added tiny home villages to house even more people struggling with homelessness. We thank Cheryl for her leadership during the past 10 years.
The HomeAid Northern California Board of Directors Transition Team will be working to search for a new executive director. If you would like to apply for the position of Executive Director of HomeAid Northern California, please send your resume to HiringHANC@homeaid.org.
