• Oakley Cuts Fees But Rates Still Too High

  • The Oakley City Council on April 25, 2017, reduced the city's park and traffic impact fees on new residential development a combined $3,100 per unit or 14.4 percent. Unfortunately, the city’s fees are still unjustifiably high and BIA|Bay Area submitted a letter detailing areas where Oakley is collecting excessive funds. BIA has asked the city to conduct a financial analysis of its reimbursement program. Click here to download BIA’s letter dated April 25, 2017. The reduced fees are a step in correct direction, however. The combined park facilities and acquisition fee is now $9,442 per single-family unit, a drop of $828 per single-family unit. The new transportation impact fee is now $12,075 per single-family unit, a drop of $2,270 per unit. Click here to view the staff report and resolutions.
