Actions taken at the June 18th Mountain View City Council hearing, led by Councilwoman Margaret Abe Koga, approved the proposed BMR Program amendments with two council proposed modifications. First, Council established the on-site BMR requirements for rowhouse/townhouse products at a 25 percent requirement, composed of (1) 15 percent at a 100 percent AMI weighted average and a range of 80 percent to 120 percent AMI and (2) 10 percent at a 135 percent AMI weighted average and a range of 120 percent to a 50 percent AMI with a corresponding in-lieu fee level equivalent to this newly established requirements. Second, Council directed the first review of the BMR Program to occur in three years. BIA Bay Area along with BIA member builders had submitted letters and provided comments at various public hearings over the past year during the review and updating of the City’s BMR Phase 2 Update process.
