• Menlo Park Denies Moratorium

  • By a 3-2 vote, the Menlo Park City Council turned down a request from two newly elected Councilmembers to direct the City Attorney to prepare a moratorium ordinance on nearly all new construction in the City. The moratorium request came after City study sessions regarding growth and the progress of the general plan, ConnectMenlo. A moratorium would have blocked development of several major housing and commercial projects, including Willow Village, a Facebook/Signature mixed-use project that includes 1,735 residential units, 926,789 sq. ft. of office, and 250 hotel rooms.
