BIA Bay Area and member builders in the Ford Ord Reuse Area have successfully convinced MCWD to significantly revise water and sewer masterplans to account for future development plans nearby cities. After months of meetings, review, and builder push back, MCWD agreed to include 4 large Marina and Seaside planning areas that were omitted from the draft master plans. The masterplan revisions are expected to add hundreds of residential and commercial units to the fee breakdown, spreading out the cost of infrastructure and potentially lowering connection fees by thousands of dollars per residential unit. The revised masterplans and studies are scheduled for April 2020 release with stakeholder meetings and public hearings to follow in the Spring.
