• Hollister Growth Cap

  • On January 16, 2018 the City Council approved an ordinance of the City Council amending the City of Hollister Municipal Code to incorporate an annual cap on residential allotments of 244 units per year in the City of Hollister. The Council further directed staff to request and receive clearance from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) that the growth management ordinance is consistent with the certified City of Hollister Housing Element. Before approving the growth limit, HCD asked the City to first submit a general plan amendment to reference the growth management program in the Housing Element. At its October 25, 2018 meeting, the Hollister Planning Commission approved a resolution recommending approval of a general plan amendment and the approved resolution was sent to HCD with a request that they respond with a determination of consistency.
