The California Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking input into its draft pro-housing designation program intended to highlight and reward cities that produce new housing. The California 2019-20 Budget Act provides a spectrum of housing planning support, incentives, funding resources and accountability measures to meet California's housing goals. Prohousing jurisdictions will be awarded additional points or preference in housing programs. The survey results will help the agency develop the policy to determine which jurisdictions will be designated as Prohousing in 2020.
