The City of East Palo Alto is on track to raise impact fees on all development, including single family and multifamily projects. The City has released a Development Impact Fee Program Nexus Study (December 2018) to assess the revenue from projected new development to fund infrastructure upgrades in the City. The Nexus Study identifies the maximum supportable fees for four categories of capital projects: 1) parks and trails; 2) public facilities; 3) storm drainage and 4) transportation infrastructure. Combined fees would range from about $11 thousand per multifamily unit to over $20 thousand for a single family house. Development stakeholders are encouraged to attend a special meeting to be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm in the Community Room at City Hall, 2415 University Avenue, East Palo Alto, CA.
