• East County Fire Fees Deal Moves Ahead

  • The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is poised to join Brentwood and ratify an agreement with the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District to standardize and update fire facility development impact fees. As a result, the fire impact fee will increase in most instances in the region, depending on location, although rates will decline slightly for multi-family units built in Brentwood. Click HERE to view the meeting agenda, staff report and fee study for Nov. 3, 2020. The standardized rate for single-family homes is $1,319 per unit, an increase of $364 per unit in Brentwood, $539 per unit in Oakley and $838 per unit in unincorporated East Contra Costa County. Brentwood adopted the fees in July, while Oakley has not yet voted on the request. The new rates go into effect 60 days after adoption. Click HERE to download a fee comparison chart.
