• East Contra Costa FPD Continues Town Halls

  • The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District continues its State of the District town halls designed to share information about the district’s proposed strategic planning process and next steps following the first direct election of a five-member first board in November 2018. A town hall is set for June 27, 2018, starting at 6 p.m., at the Brentwood City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 150 City Park Way, Brentwood. Another meeting is set for June 28, 2018, starting at 6 p.m. at Oakley City Hall in its City Council Chambers, 3231 Main St., Oakley. Following the new board members’ formal election later this year, they are expected to embark on a plan to beef up the region’s fire protection levels with added stations and personnel. The plan may include recommendations for residential development impact fee increases within the district, which encompasses Brentwood, Oakley, Knightsen, Discovery Bay and rural eastern Contra Costa County. The strategic planning kick-off session is scheduled for 6 p.m. on July 19, 2018, at Knightsen School, 1923 Delta Road in Knightsen.
