• DUSD Hikes Fee

  • The Dublin Unified School District Board of Directors increased its Level II school impact fee to $10.66 per sq. ft., an increase of $3.77 per sq. ft. or 55 percent. The trustees made no public comments during the hearing on June 14, 2016, and the fee went into effect immediately. In a meeting with the district, a strong letter and during the hearing, BIA|Bay Area representatives argued that DUSD had failed to justify the fee increase in its updated School Facility Needs Analysis. The SFNA contains a number of questionable methodologies that resulted in the steep increase in the fee between DUSD’s last SFNA completed in September 2015 and the current analysis. In addition, the district’s voters approved in early June a new local school bond that will provide an additional $283 million in facilities funds that should be factored into the SFNA.
