• Contra Costa Set to Hike Traffic Fee

  • Contra Costa public works staff will recommend that the county join its partners and increase its traffic impact rate on new developments in the West Contra Costa County sub-regional transportation fee territory. The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote on the rate change on April 16, 2019. If adopted, the single-family rate will increase from $3,768 per unit to $5,439, while the multi-family fee will jump from $2,392 per unit to $2,679. The change stems from an updated nexus study commissioned by the West Contra Costa County Transportation Authority, which resulted in the recommendation to boost fees. The WCCTAC board is asking all six of its member agencies to adopt the updated fee schedule. In addition to Contra Costa County, the sub-region territory includes six cities — Hercules, El Cerrito, Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo. The cities of El Cerrito, San Pablo, Pinole and Hercules have already adopted the new rates. For questions, contact BIA’s Lisa Vorderbrueggen at lvorderbrueggen@biabayarea.org.
