• City of Fremont Community Development Safety Updates

  • The City of Fremont Community Development Department has updated safety measures at the Development Services Center and online permit services, as well as new safety protocol for construction sites.

    • Safety Measures at Development Services Center To provide an alternative to online permit services for construction and development projects, the City’s Development Services Center located at 39550 Liberty Street in Fremont is open. If someone chooses to visit, please note that the City is following Alameda County’s regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors are required to wear a face covering, check their temperature at a new Temperature Check Station, and complete a COVID-19 Screening Form. Also, only a certain number of visitors can enter at one time, staffing is limited, and safety measures are in place to help maintain social distancing. Please be advised that as a result of all of these safety measures, wait times may be longer. Protecting the health of employees and the community remains the top priority for the City. For more information about the Development Services Center, please visit this webpage or contact the Center at 510-494-4443 or by email.
    • Online Permit Services Using Citizen Access Online permit services are now available through Citizen Access, the City’s online permit portal. Users can create a Citizen Access account and submit a new permit request for planning permits, building/fire permits, and engineering permits. Users can also search for permits, track the status of a permit, resubmit plans and documents, pay permit fees, request revisions to issued permits, and schedule building inspections.
