BIA|Bay Area is challenging the Brentwood Union School District’s proposed Level II fee increase on the grounds that it, among other things, fails to factor a $158 million bond measure that voters approved in June 2016. BIA’s extensive four-page comment letter details a number of other deficiencies in the school district’s 2017 School Facilities Needs Analysis (SFNA.) The district is scheduled to consider the Level II fee increase proposal during a public hearing on June 21, 2017. If adopted, the fee will increase 20 percent from $2.68 per sq. ft. to $3.21 per sq. ft. The new rate would go into effect immediately.
