American Canyon To Reinstate Inclusionary
The American Canyon City Council directed staff to restore and increase the community’s inclusionary requirement for new rental residential development. Back in 2016, the city replaced its 10 percent inclusionary on rental housing with a direct affordable housing impact fee of $3.68 per sq. ft. The city will now move to impose a 15 percent inclusionary requirement with an undefined mix of very low, low and moderate income units. Developers would need council approval for an alternative compliance method such as payment of an in-lieu fee, land dedication or off-site units.
