• Alameda Seeks Input On ‘Bird-Safe’ Regs

  • The Alameda Planning Department staff is seeking input from the development community on draft bird-safe building regulations. Click here to download and view the proposed ordinance language. The regulation seeks to codify strategies for large projects that feature extensive glass facades, according to city staff. The city’s planning board and city council are expected to consider the ordinance in early 2018. Members should send their concerns and comments to BIA’s Lisa Vorderbrueggen by Dec. 15, 2017, at lvorderbrueggen@biabayarea.org, who will compile a response to the city. Members may also contact Alameda Planning Services Manager Allen Tai at 510-747-6888 or ATai@alamedaca.gov.
