Alameda County Water District held a status update meeting with BIA Builders following an October 2015 meeting where project plan check review timelines, final approvals/recordation, fees for service, estimated work cost delays, coordination of internal staffing, etc. were discussed. At the March 17th follow-up meeting the ACWD staff reported that they had reduced plan turn-around time by 45% through the hiring of temporary staff with current interviewing to hire two new full-time staffers. ACWD’s goal is to be fully staffed by 4th Quarter 2016. Additionally ACWD reported that efforts have been made to improve project processing & coordination between Engineering and Operations and cross training of staff and efforts to have early project discussions with homebuilders and builder project engineers. General discussion concluded with commitments by both ACWD and builders to check-in periodically and keep communications open.
