• BIA Raises Questions In Oakley

  • BIA|Bay Area and its members are raising a number of questions about Oakley’s updated park and traffic impact fee nexus studies, which will be discussed at a public workshop on March 14, 2017. The studies recommend an 18.5 percent reduction in the city’s traffic fee and a 15 percent increase in the park fee. But Oakley’s housing prices have not returned to pre-recession levels and production has stalled, which suggests that the market cannot withstand fee increases and would likely benefit from cost reductions. The city expects to schedule a public fee hearing on April 11, 2017, and, if adopted, the new fees would go into effect on July 1, 2017.
