Walnut Creek invites the development community to participate in a roundtable discussion about a proposed community benefit program associated with its draft north and west downtown specific plans. The discussion will take place as part of the City Council’s Housing and Community Development Committee meeting set for 10 a.m. in the third floor conference room at Walnut Creek City Hall on June 12, 2018. The draft specific plans purport to offer greater development opportunities in exchange for community benefits. The committee will hold a roundtable discussion with the development community during the meeting to “identify a feasible process for implementing this community benefits program and to identify additional benefits that should be listed in either plan,” according to an announcement from the city. Staff will report the input back to the City Council in July.
