Builders in the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) are finally going to get relief from sky high school fees after the Board of Education adopted lower fees at a special May 11, 2018 meeting. Additionally, builders who can wait to pull building permits for approximately 30 – 45 days may escape Level 3 fees completely when the State of California releases Proposition 51 bond money to fund FUSD construction projects. Fees on new residential construction in 2017/18 were the highest in FUSD history at Level 2 $13.05 sq. ft. and Level 3 $26.11. 2018/19 fees are significantly lower at Level 2 $6.80 and Level 3 $14.99 per sq. ft.
