On Wednesday, November 1 the Morgan Hill City Coucil voted to adopt a BIA policy recommendation that full cost recovery fees be phased in over a 1+ year period. The fee increases are a result of a development services study that showed development, building, and inspection fees needed to increase to keep pace with salaries. The first increase will equal 50% of the difference between old fees and new fees and will become effective Jan 1 2018. Then on July 1, 2018 another increase equal to 50% of the remaining 50% (or 25%) will become effective. Finally on Jan 1, 2019 the remaining difference will be added to achieve the 100% full cost recovery level claimed in the study. To view a 50%/100% comparison of fee increases click here.
