• BART Solicits Input on Livermore Extension

  • BART seeks comments on a proposed 5.5 mile extension along Interstate 580 to the Isabel Avenue interchange including a conventional train in addition to alternative diesel units and Bus Rapid Transit or express bus service. An analysis commissioned by BART shows that an extension of the train technology or the diesel units would cost significantly more than Bus Rapid Transit — $1.6 billion for rail compared with $380 million to $25 million for bus — but it would attract as many as 3 ½ times more passengers. To review the proposed project and alternatives evaluations, visit www.bart.gov/about/projects/liv. BART is holding an open house to present the information and take public comment in Livermore on Feb. 27, 2018, from 6-9 p.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center at 4448 Loyola Way. Resident may also let BART know their preferences via email, online or through the mail: email BART at barttolivermore@bart.gov, submit comments at www.bart.gov/livermore or mail to BART to Livermore Extension Project, 300 Lakeside Drive, 21st Floor, Oakland, CA 94612.
