  • The Antioch City Council has directed staff to proceed with stakeholder meetings and bring back a recommendations for a new transportation facilities impact fee. As proposed, all new residential and commercial development would pay toward the costs of constructing 14 transportation improvements identified as necessary to serve projected growth. According to a consulting firm, the maximum supportable fees for residential development are $15,753 per single-family unit and $9,767 per multi-family unit. Currently, the city negotiates with individual developers for the construction of specific improvements at costs that typically meet or exceed the recommended fee levels, the consultant told the council at its meeting on Jan. 10, 2017. The development community will have an opportunity to offer its input during upcoming stakeholder meetings.
