NASA and the U.S. General Services Administration are seeking formal proposals to construct a minimum of 1,930 rental housing units and associated retail within the NASA Ames Research Center at Moffett Field. According to the Bay Area News Group, the project calls for 100,000 square feet of retail space in addition to the rental housing, which would be built over the next three to five years alongside Highway 101 on the southern end of NASA Ames’ property near Mountain View. The project area is now open for tours to interested developers, and NASA and the GSA are soliciting comments about the project. The deadline for proposals and bid deposits is Feb. 9, 2018.
