The PWB collaborates with Junior Achievement to help build Oakland’s Fremont High School students’ careers

On December 8th the Professional Women in Building’s Educational Outreach Committee  (EOC)  joined forces with Junior Achievement Northern California to educate Fremont High School’s Architecture Academy about the career opportunities available within the building industry. Pulte Homes graciously opened their new community Central Park Terraces for the students to spend the day with the different trades involved. Along with a team from Pulte Homes, the students got to speak with Ron Jones from  Hunt Hale Jones Architects, and the landscape Architect Roman De Sota of R3 Studios. From the beginning phases of schematic design, through the production of construction drawings, to the actual building; these students got to walk through the process, the plans, and the construction site along with these industry professionals.

The participation and donations form builders and associates helped to make this a memorable day for everyone involved. A big thank you to Pulte Homes, Hunt Hale Jones and Petersen Dean for sponsoring this event; along with the many donations collected from Toll Brothers, Shea Homes, Ponderosa, DeNova Homes, PlyGem, Delta, Miller Starr regalia, and Outdoor Dimesnions. When we come together on events like these we are able to inspire a new generation to become leaders in our industry.
