    The SMC -Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) strives to provide a forum for sales, marketing, and related business professionals to exchange ideas, network, develop professional skills, and celebrate successes within the homebuilding industry.

    Each year, SMC produces and hosts two key events Marketing and Merchandise Excellence (MAME) Awards, to recognize the outstanding work of our BIA Bay Area homebuilding members, and an Annual Cornhole Tournament, an industry member networking event.  In addition, the SMC provides educational programs, workshops, networking opportunities and special events to stay on the cutting edge of success.

    Meetings are generally the first Thursday of each month at 9:00am and open to all members. Register on the BIA events page

    The Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) offers members the opportunity to network with colleagues across the region, state and nation and advance their professional careers within the building industry. PWB provides its members educational opportunities, mentoring and the chance to practice leadership skills through participation in its political, charitable and legislative advocacy activities. All women working for BIA member companies are automatically enrolled in PWB at no additional cost. Men are welcome to join, as well. The association’s chapter is part of the California Building Industry Association and is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders Professional Women in Building.

    ‘The House That She Built’ Interest List - Inspired by the incredible women that worked on PWB Utah’s project, PWB Bay Area is building interest to design and construct our very own ‘The House That She Built’. We would be honored to carry on their vision by highlighting and utilizing women professionals, skilled tradeswomen, and women-owned companies for all stages of our project.     P.A.S.S. (Purchasing Agents, Subcontractors and Suppliers) is a committee dedicated to building strategic relationships between builders and associate members within BIA|Bay Area. P.A.S.S. creates a professional networking environment for association-member purchasing agents (builders) with subcontractors and suppliers (associates) to meet and exchange professional and educational resources.

    Department of Real Estate (DRE) is a committee that monitors the activities and regulations of the state Bureau of Real Estate.

    The Building Industry Association of the Bay Area’s New Gen is an organization designed to empower and educate those new to the building industry.  Through educational seminars and field trips, each class will gain an understanding of the life cycle of the project, while developing long lasting relationships with the members of their class and the participating builders.

    With the industry’s holistic involvement and commitment to this program, each graduating class will be empowered and encouraged to remain engaged in the BIA, and its leadership opportunities, throughout their careers.

    The Young Professionals of the BIA|Bay Area brings together professionals within our industry that are 45 and younger. The committee strives to create events and activities to network with other professionals and engage with other councils and committees of the BIA Bay Area.

    Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with the various BIA committees, councils and board in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention. They function as ambassadors and support membership involvement and networking. Committee members greet event attendees and make introductions, welcome new members and make all feel welcome, valued and engaged.
