Explicitly noting that BIA|Bay Area’s legal challenge of Oakland’s mandatory public art fee remains unresolved and that the city has several other fees in the works, American Canyon is considering a voluntary public art program. Its city council will consider a draft program on April 4, 2017, which would provide a framework that enables the city to accept public art donations, artwork loans and monetary donations to further the city’s public art program.
