• Alameda County Releases Draft Housing Bond

  • Alameda County staff have released a draft countywide $500 million housing bond program that would provide down-payment assistance for middle-income working families to purchase homes, finance accessibility improvements necessary for seniors and the disabled to stay in their homes, and rehabilitate the homes of low-income residents. In addition, funds would be used to create and preserve affordable rental housing. The draft will be presented to the public in a series of town hall meetings through May. The full Board of Supervisors is scheduled a hearing on June 14, 2016, to vote on whether or not to place the measure on the November 2016 ballot. For a town hall schedule and to view the draft materials, visit the county’s housing bond website at www.acgov.org/board/housingbond.htm.
